New Jersey Mansion Tax Law Amended

Rate Reduction

In accordance with the agreements with the Attorney General of the State of New York and New York State Department of Insurance,
the New York State Department of Insurance has approved rate reduction of 15% on all purchase (fee) transactions insuring liability
amounts up to one million ($1,000,000.00) dollars.

Section 14 RATE MANUAL CHANGE

Section 14 of the TIRSA Rate Manual has been changed, with an effective date of February 15, 2006.
you must revise all refinance invoices for transactions that close on or after that date. Implementation of Section 14 Changes will require your immediate attention and full cooperation. Agents will recognize the need to educate personnel, to furnish customers with updated rate information. Section 14 Rate Change

On July 14, 2004, Nassau County Clerk issued a letter to New York State Land Title Association informing the Association that effective August 1, 2004 the office would no longer stamp the Combined Real Estate Transfer Tax Return ("TP-584") to acknowledge receipt of the State’s Real Estate Transfer Tax until the conveyance in question is reviewed and accepted for recording or recorded by that office.... interest and penalties accrues on the State’s Transfer Tax if the Tax is not paid within fifteen days following the date of the related conveyance...More
